Special Operations

Desoto County Emergency Services provides fire, rescue, and hazardous materials response to the unincorporated areas of Desoto County. In addition Desoto County Emergency Services provides mutual aid response upon request to the municipalities of Desoto County.

Desoto County Emergency Services is part of the Mississippi Office of Homeland Security Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 1. We assist in providing rope rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue, structural collapse rescue, swift water rescue and overland search and rescue response to the state of Mississippi and to other states in our region in the event of a disaster or incident that exceeds local capabilities.

Training 

Mission Statement
The mission statement of the Desoto County Emergency Services Training Division is to provide the training and education necessary to ensure emergency responders provide the highest level of public safety service to the citizens of Desoto County.

This training is conducted by Desoto County Emergency Services Staff with the assistance of instructors from fire departments across Desoto County. In addition, Desoto County Emergency Services coordinates the delivery of courses to fire and ems personnel conducted by the Mississippi Fire Academy, The Mississippi Office of Homeland Security, TEEX, and FEMA.
